At 8:30 p.m. (local time) on Saturday night of October 17, 1992, two weeks before Halloween, Yoshi and his host brother Web left for a Halloween party in Web's car. Yoshi was in a white tuxedo and black pants to make himself up for John Travolta who acted in the movie "Saturday Night Fever." Web put on makeup for an injured person with bandage over the head, hands, and legs. As he had injured his neck when he jumped into the swimming pool in the back yard of his house, his neck was in a plaster cast. Neither of them put on any makeup on the face. "Here we are!" they thought when they arrived at the Peairs' house. The house was decorated with Halloween ornaments and the house number was very similar to that of the house they were visiting. They didn't have a slight idea that they were visiting a wrong house. They rang the front door bell, but there was no answer. So they walked to a door in the carport in the side of the house. Then they heard someone bang the door. "Are we at a wrong house?" they wondered, moved back toward the road, and stood there for a while. There they heard the door open and someone appeared. "We are here for a party!" Yoshi explained and started to walk fast to the door through the carport. Web cried to Yoshi, seeing Mr. Peairs carrying a gun in his hand at the door, "No. Come back!" "Freeze!" warned Mr. Peairs. However, Yoshi repeated, "We are here for a party!" No sooner had he finished the words than Mr. Peairs put the trigger at Yoshi. The gun was a Magnum 44 known powerful enough to kill a lion by one blow. The bullet penetrated Yoshi's chest. Yoshi, bleeding heavily, died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
